Speaker profile
Totti Nyberg is a Finnish brand builder, marketer, and business leader best known for his role in transforming Makia from a small Helsinki-based startup into an internationally recognized lifestyle brand.
Over nearly two decades, Nyberg held several leadership positions at Makia, including Global Sales & Marketing Director and later CEO. He subsequently served as Chief Creative & Brand Officer at Finlayson & Co. During his tenure, Makia grew from a startup into a business generating more than €12 million in annual revenue within one of the world's most competitive consumer industries. Along the way, the company navigated international expansion, major brand transformations, two near-bankruptcies, and countless growth challenges—experiences that provided invaluable lessons in entrepreneurship, leadership, and long-term brand building.
Beyond Makia, Nyberg has contributed to the international lifestyle and sports industry through his work with Burton Snowboards, where he served on the EMEA leadership team. This experience gave him a unique perspective on global consumer brands, international growth, and modern brand leadership.
As a speaker, Nyberg combines practical insights on branding, marketing, leadership, and growth with nearly twenty years of hands-on experience building and scaling an international consumer brand. He speaks candidly about how strong brands are created with limited resources, how companies navigate crises, and how creativity, culture, and commercial thinking can be leveraged as drivers of sustainable growth. At the same time, he takes audiences behind the scenes of the journey from Finnish challenger brand to international success story.
Today, Nyberg leads Makia Creative, the creative agency founded by the original Makia founders. The agency helps companies build stronger brands, create more meaningful customer experiences, and gain competitive advantage through bold design and strategic creativity.
